After 12 days in hospital suffering from COVID-19, the 46-year-old has tested negative and is now back at home.

"Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the people that looked after me, my family and I'm sending lots of support to those that are going through this situation," Palop said.

Andres Palop gained victory in La Liga (2001–2002), UEFA Cup (2003–04) and UEFA Super Cup in 2004 in Valencia team.

The Spanish player also won UEFA European Championship in 2008.
