Azerbaijan to play in C League in first division of League of Nations

Baku. 31 March. REPORT.AZ/ UEFA has announced the initial composition of the League of Nations.

Report informs, 55 members of the association are divided into 4 Leagues. After the end of fifth round of 2018 World Cup qualifying group stage UEFA has published a ratings list of countries.

According to the list drawn up on the basis of schedule of rates, Azerbaijani team fell to C League. This is due to the fact that the team took 26th place.

Each A and B leagues have 12 teams while C League -15 and D League -16 teams.The current composition of leagues is as follows:

A League (4 groups with 3 teams in each): Germany, France, Portugal, Belgium, Spain, England, Switzerland, Italy, Croatia, Poland, Iceland, Bosnia and Herzegovina

B League (4 groups with 3 teams in each): Ireland, Russia, Austria, Sweden, Slovakia, Wales, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Northern Ireland, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Hungary

C League (1 group with 3 teams in each and 3 groups with 4 teams in each):Greece, Romania, Slovenia, Israel, Serbia, Denmark, Bulgaria, Albania, Scotland, Montenegro, Norway, Lithuania, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Armenia.

D League (4 groups with 4 teams in each):Estonia, Finland, Belarus, Georgia, the Faroe Islands, Latvia, Macedonia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Kosovo, Malta, Andorra, San Marino, Gibraltar.

According to the decision of the UEFA Executive Committee at the moment, Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as Russia and Ukraine cannot be in the same group.

On the basis of the results in League of Nations, there will be 4 qualifiers for 2020 European Championship.

Final Four will be held for them in March 2020.
