Ataturk’s favorite football club known - VIDEO

Baku. 24 August. REPORT.AZ/ Founder of the Republic of Turkey Mustafa Kamal Ataturk’s favorite football club was FC Gunesh, Report informs quoting to Indigo magazine.

FC Gunesh, separated from Galatasaray in 1933, was formed with initiatives of 27 people. First President of the FC was Ataturk’s adjutant Cevat Abbas Gurer. The FC was winner of national championship in 1937/1938 and Istanbul Football League.

FC Gunesh held friendly match against FC Neftchi at Tofig Bahramov Stadium (former Joseph Stalin Stadium) on July 21, 1959 in Baku. The score was 0:0.
