Ambassador from Azerbaijan to participate in draw of Europa League for first time

Baku. 17 August. REPORT.AZ/ The ambassador from Azerbaijan will take part for the first time at the draw of the group round of the UEFA Europa League 2018/2019 season.

Report informs, this is due to the fact that the final match will be held on May 29, 2019 at the Baku Olympic Stadium. According to the rules, one of the veteran football players must be the final ambassador. He must take part in all the draws, starting with the group round. The name of this person has not been specified yet. The draw for the group stage will take place on August 31 in Monaco.

This season only representatives of Azerbaijan from "Qarabag" can make their way to the group stage of the Europa League. For this, the Agdam club must win the Moldovan Sheriff in the III qualifying round of the League of Europe. The first match will be held on August 23 in Tiraspol, and the return meeting will be held on May 30 in Baku. Notably, in the 2017-2018 season the final match was held in Lyon, France. The ambassador of the final was the former defender of the French national team Éric Abidal.
