AFFA to set new rules for Azerbaijani Premier League

Chairman of the AFFA Club Committee Riad Rafiyev has commented on AFFA's recommendation on testing players and coaches for coronavirus.

If a decision is made to resume training and championships, negotiations will be held with the Professional Football League (PFL) and the national association in advance, Rafiyev told Report.

According to him, AFFA will set some rules upon the resumption of the championship. "

"All clubs must follow these regulations. I can give more information after discussions with AFFA and PFL," he added.

Earlier, AFFA suggested that clubs should test their players and coaches for the virus.

The Azerbaijani Premier League was suspended on March 13 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The PFL has previously announced that if the country lifts the quarantine regime on May 4, Division I will be restored on May 21 and the Premier League on May 23. However, the extension of the quarantine until May 31 allowed the ban on football to remain in force.
