Leakage problem appears in Atletico stadium to host Qarabag FC - VIDEO

Baku. 29 August. REPORT.AZ/ A problem occurred in Atletico's new stadium to host FC Qarabag at the 2018 World Cup.

Report informs citing the Marca, strong summer storms have battered the newly built infrastructure. The reason that the leaks have started so quickly is that the process to heat-seal the roof has not yet been completed.

The official stadium Twitter aimed to reassure fans by describing the leakage as 'normal'.

"We're still heat-sealing the roof," read their tweet. "Stay calm, it will be perfect on 16/9!"

Malaga will visit the new stadium on September 16 to open Los Rojiblancos' new home, however this footage suggests there is now a real race against time to ensure the stadium is ready for use by that date.

The first Champions League match at the 68,000-seat arena in Madrid will be between Atletico and Chelsea on September 27. Then, Qarabag will play away match at the stadium on October 31.

Notably, Estadio Metropolitano is the only rival of Baku Olympic Stadium to host Champions League final match in the 2018/2019 season. The final decision will be made public on September 21.
