5 former players to manage club for first time in Turkish football history

Baku. 16 December. REPORT.AZ/ 5 former players will manage Turkish club for first time in the country's football history.

Report informs, former players Ümit Davala, Yıldıray Baştürk, Ömer Erdoğan, Cihan Haspolatlı and Murat Erdoğan will manage Tuzlaspor of the Second League.

An agreement was reached between the mentioned persons and Tuzla Mayor Şadi Yazıcı and Assistant Chairman, the club's president Ahmet Çabuk. Y.Baştürk didn't attend the meeting due to being abroad. Galatasaray player Hamit Altıntop also took part in the event to support his mates.

Management will be handed over to the former players in the club's meeting.

Notably, Tuzlaspor was established in 1954. The club has been managing by current leadership since 2011. Participating in the interregional amateur league in 2011/2012 season, the team qualified for the Third League as a leader of 11 groups in the next season. In 2014/2015 season, the first group leader Tuzla team qualified for the Second League for the first time in its history. The team reached 1/8 final of the national Cup in the same season.
