MP proposes exempting media entities in Azerbaijan from taxes for 5 years

Azerbaijani MP Mahir Abbaszada has suggested releasing media entities in Azerbaijan from taxes for 5 years.

Report informs that the parliamentarian made such a proposal at today's meeting of the Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship.

"If exemption from taxes of media subjects for 3 years cost the state 10 million manats ($5,882,352), then I think that exemption from taxes for 5 years will cost the budget about 15 million manats ($8,823,529), and this is a small burden," Abbaszada said.

The MP believes that the extension of tax benefits from three to five years will stimulate development in this area: "The steps taken in this area will yield results in the future."
