Monthly inflation in Turkey exceeds expectations

Baku. 3 May. REPORT.AZ/ Turkish Statistical Institute announces inflation figures for April.
Report informs citing the Turkish media, last month, prices in the neighboring country increased by about 1.9 %compared to the previous month, and by 11 % annually.
Notably, analysts predicted that monthly inflation would be about 1.5%. After the price increase exceeded the expectations, demand to the US dollar increased in Turkey and its rate exceeded 4.2 Lira.
In April, mostly footwear and clothes became expensive in neighboring country-10.4%. The least rise was experienced in soft drinks - 0.2%.
