Minister says budget surplus exceeds forecast almost threefold

"Consolidated budget revenues in 2019 amounted to AZN 33.8 billion, up 9.4% from the previous year," Finance Minister Samir Sharifov said at the board meeting, Report informs.

According to him, expenditures made up AZN 26.5 billion.

Sharifov said that the consolidated Budget surplus was AZN 7.3 million, a 2.9-fold increase from the forecast.

The Minister noted that the state budget revenues for 2019 stood at AZN 24.2 billion, up 4.5% from the forecast. Expenditures were executed at AZN 24.4 billion or 97%.

"Budget deficit amounted to AZN 207 million against the forecasted AZN 2 billion."

According to Sharifov, the state budget allocated AZN 640 million to compensate for the troubled loans, which covered 593,000 people.
