MasterCard appeals to Turkey’s Central Bank over Azerbaijan

"We are working to make installment cards of Azerbaijani banks valid in Turkey as well," Erdem Chakar, MasterCard Country Manager for Azerbaijan, said in response to a question from Report.

According to Chakar, an appeal has already been sent to the Turkish Central Bank in this regard.

"We have appealed to the Central Bank of Turkey to make installment cards of the Azerbaijani banks valid in Turkey. We are waiting for its answer. We want people, who make purchases while visiting Turkey, pay in restaurants or have a card from an Azerbaijani bank that buys products online from Turkish websites to be able to use the installment opportunities. We are currently working in this direction."

According to him, the system is expected to become active until the summer of 2022.
