Laos is calling on the international community to fundamentally revise funding mechanisms for infrastructure projects in the world's most vulnerable regions, Lao Deputy Minister of Public Works and Transport Detsongkham Thammavong said at a ministerial roundtable held during the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, according to Report.
"Scaling up urban protection requires sustainable investment, accessible financial instruments, and technical capacity building. This is of paramount importance for least developed countries, which are currently facing the dual pressures of accelerating urbanization and growing climate threats," he noted.
