Imports of personal armor, mine detection dogs to be exempted from tax

The draft amendments to the Tax Code and the law “On Customs Tariffs” were discussed in the first reading at today's plenary session of the Milli Majlis.

The import of personal protective clothing, tools, mine detection dogs, explosives, and pyrotechnics to Azerbaijan is to be exempted from customs duties and taxes for 5 years, Report informs.

Thus, in line with the new item added to the code and the law, on the basis of a document endorsed by a relevant body (organization), within the framework of measures to clean territories of the Azerbaijani Republic from mines and unexploded ordnance, including other territories affected by war and military operations, as of October 15, 2021, to October 15, 2026, imports of all types of machinery, equipment, technical means and devices, their spare parts, personal armored protective clothing, tools, mine detection dogs, explosives and pyrotechnics are exempted from customs duties and taxes.

The draft amendments were put to a vote after discussions and adopted in the first reading.
