Elman Rustamov: "Main goal is to stabilize economic growth in non-oil sector at 5%"

"The major goal of the Azerbaijani government is to stabilize economic growth in the non-oil sector at 5% in the post-pandemic period," the chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, Elman Rustamov, told today’s parliamentary discussion of next year's state budget, Report informs.

"One of our main tasks is to diversify exports in the sector, to maintain the pace, and, on this basis, to support overall economic growth and the stability of the country's external balance," he said.

In January-October this year, Azerbaijan's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) amounted to 71,589,000,000 manats, 4.9% more than the same period last year.

Under the report, added value in the oil and gas sector of the economy increased by 2.6% over the past year, and in the non-oil and gas sector - by 5.9%.
