Central Bank of Turkey lowers discount rate to 16%

The next meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Turkey (CBT) was held today, Report informs.

The discount rate was reduced by two percentage points from 18% to 16%.

The discount rate was raised from 15% to 17% at the meeting of the CBT on December 2, 2020, kept stable at the meeting on February 18, 2021, increased from 17% to 19% at the meeting on March 18, 2021.

It was lowered from 19% to 18% on September 23.
