Baku hosts international insurance forum

Baku. 2 July. REPORT.AZ/ Today Baku hosts traditional Azerbaijan International Insurance Forum (AIIF-2015). Report informs, a two-day forum was organized by Azerbaijan Insurers Association (ASA) and the support of the Ministry of Finance.

The official opening ceremony was attended by Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov, Chairman of the Milli Mejlis on Economic Policy, MP Ziyad Samadzade, Deputy Finance Minister Azer Bayramov and head of the State Insurance Supervision Service, Namig Khalilov.

The first part of the conference is on the theme "The insurance and reinsurance market in the context of current realities - a new line of business." The second part will focus on the theme of "Property insurance in the Caucasus", the third part will hear reports on "Reinsurance coverage and new methods of underwriting."

On the first day of the Forum is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings and official receptions. Tomorrow the forum will continue with two parallel extending seminars, one of which will be devoted to the theme "Auto and new technologies for the development of the market", the other - the banking and life insurance.

In the second day of the forum will also be held bilateral meetings and special evening, including European games (bowling competitions) for insurers.

VI Azerbaijan International Insurance Forum is the most important event in the Caucasus region, dedicated to the insurance and reinsurance market, highlights the most important trends and prospects in the region. The event is a platform for interactive communication between the participants and is aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the field of insurance.

In general, AIIF-2015 was attended by over 250 representatives of 70 companies from more than 25 countries. 101 of them are foreign participants, among which there are representatives of Swiss Re, Munich Re, Hannover Re, Scor, Allianz, Ace Group, Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group, Deloitte, Standardand Poor's, Audatex and other companies. 141 members represent the local insurance market. Also, the forum was joined by representatives of international organizations and associations (NGOs).

Sponsors of the forum are 10 local and 7 foreign companies, among which is particularly noteworthy in the reinsurance market giants - a Swiss company Swiss Re, as well as the company Audatex, which is assessing the extent of damage as a result of insurance cases in the world.
