AzFina calls for full VAT refund integration in e-commerce

The Azerbaijan Fintech Association (AzFina) has called for the full integration of the VAT refund mechanism into electronic commerce to further stimulate the development of online shopping in Azerbaijan.

According to Report, AzFina board member Zeynal Karimzada said in an appeal during the "Digital Financial Agenda of Azerbaijan" event held in Baku that the issue remains one of the most important topics and has been discussed at various times with the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

"As is known, today in many cases citizens cannot use VAT refund services for online purchases. Changes could provide an additional boost to the development of e-commerce," he noted.
