Azerbaijani banks saw their external liabilities at AZN 1,666,100 on December 1, last year.

Report informs, citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, that this is a 3.7 percent increase over November 1.

The figure has dropped 8.9 percent from January 1, 2019, and 9.9 percent from December 1, 2018.

The bank's net foreign assets amounted to AZN 4,585,300,000 as of December 1, which is a drop of 8.1 percent from November 1, and a 17.2 percent increase from January 1.

In annual terms, the figure was 3 percent less than on December 1, 2018.

In the reporting period, the banks' total foreign assets made AZN 6,541,100,000, a drop of 5.6 percent from November 1, an increase of 10.7% from January 1, and a decrease of 4.1 percent from December 1, 2018.

Today Azerbaijan accounts for 30 operating banks. Two of them are state-owned (Azer-Turk Bank, Azerbaijan International Bank), and 28 are private.
