Azerbaijani banks: Foreign assets up, internal assets down

As of September 1, 2024, Azerbaijani banks held net foreign assets totaling just over 25.376 billion manats (approximately $15.139 billion), Report informs, referring to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
This amount represents a 2% increase from the previous month, a 0.6% surge from the beginning of the year, and a 20.1% growth compared to the same period last year.
Additionally, by the end of August 2024, the net internal assets of Azerbaijan’s banks stood at more than 19.645 billion manats (almost $11.556 billion). This represents a 2% decline from the previous month, a 1.1% decrease from the beginning of 2024, and a 1.7% drop compared to the same period last year.
Overall, 22 banks operate in Azerbaijan.
