Azerbaijani banks cut 733 staff this year

Baku. 2 June. REPORT.AZ/ The number of branches of 32 commercial banks of Azerbaijan as of May 1, 2017 was 560, which is 9 units less than the indicator at the beginning of the year. OnebranchwasclosedinApril.

Report informs with reference to the Financial Market Supervision Authority (FIMSA).

At the same time, in January-April, the number of bank branches increased by 9 units - to 140, as in April - by 3 units. During the reporting period, the number of ATMs increased by 32 units - up to 2 493 (in April - 22 units).

The personnel of the banking sector decreased by 733 people or 4.3% - to 16 214. 

Only in April, number of employees in the sector decreased by 0.6% or 98 people.
