In January–September 2023, transactions worth 16,607 million manats ($9.8 billion) were carried out in the securities market of Azerbaijan, 76% more than last year, Report informs, citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
Of this, 6,043.8 million manats ($3.6 billion) were formed in the primary market (+20%), and 10,563.2 million manats ($6.2 billion) were formed in the secondary market (+2.4 times).
Some 9,662 (+46.5%) deals were concluded in the securities market during the reporting period, with the primary market accounting for 1,853 deals (+58.1%) and the secondary market for 7,809 (+44%).
Government securities rose 25.9% to 6,179.8 million manats ($3.6 billion), or 37.2%, of transactions carried out in January-September of 2023, corporate securities rose by 66.1% to 1,733.7 million manats ($1.02 billion), or 10.4%, and repo operations went up 2.5 times to 8,693.5 million manats ($5.1 billion), or 52.3%.
Over the past nine months, 2,223, or 23%, of the deals were concluded on government securities (+63.9%), 2,982, or 30.9%, on corporate securities (-10.3%), and 4,457, or 46.1%, on repo operations (+2.3 times).
