Azerbaijan posts current account surplus of $4B in 9 months

In January-September 2024, Azerbaijan's current account balance (CAB) showed a surplus of approximately $4 billion, or 7.2% of the gross domestic product (GDP), Samir Nasirov, Director of the Statistics Department at the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, told a briefing, Report informs.
According to Nasirov, this is approximately 40% less than the same period last year.
Over the past year, the CAB surplus in the oil and gas sector decreased by approximately 8% to $11.1 billion, while the CAB deficit in the non-oil-gas sector increased by 31.5% to $7.1 billion.
