Azerbaijan, Israel discuss co-op on next-generation payment instruments

Azerbaijan and Israel discussed prospects for expanding cooperation and developing coopetition in economic and financial sectors, cyber security, new payment systems, and next-generation payment instruments, public finance management, best practices, and technologies, Report informs citing a meeting at the Finance Ministry with a delegation led by visiting Israeli Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman.

The sides underscored with satisfaction that relations between Azerbaijan and Israel in the political, economic, and other spheres are developing on an upward trend.

Minister Samir Sharifov congratulated his visiting counterpart on Israel's accession to the Asian Development Bank a few days ago and expressed confidence that the interaction between Azerbaijan and Israel will expand within international interstate financial organizations, as well as in other areas.

In his turn, Avigdor Lieberman thanked Azerbaijan for supporting Israel's accession to the Asian Development Bank. The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
