Azerbaijan discusses combating tax evasion in Russia

The State Tax Service (STS) of Azerbaijan participated in the 18th International Symposium on Theory and Practice of Tax Reforms in St. Petersburg, Russia, where the role of innovations in combating tax evasion was discussed.
According to Report, citing the STS, the event brought together representatives of the Russian Federal Tax Service's Neva Academy, the Institute of Economics and Industrial Management of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, other academic institutions, as well as delegates from China, Germany, Uzbekistan, and several other countries.
Discussions focused on technological innovations in fiscal stimulation from theoretical, methodological, infrastructural, and practical perspectives; the role of innovations in fighting tax evasion; regional and sectoral challenges; strategic directions of tax policy in applying artificial intelligence and technologies, and ensuring technological sovereignty.
Participants were presented with positive experiences in stimulating technological innovations through taxation.
Nazim Aliyev, Head of the Science, Innovation, and Cooperation Branch of the State Tax Service's Training Center, attended the symposium. He delivered presentations on Use of Innovative Technologies in Combating Tax Crime and Azerbaijan's Experience in Tax Incentives for Technological Innovations. The Azerbaijani representative also took part in a training session on Digital Analytics in the Tax Administration System.
