ADB ready to support Azerbaijan's healthcare reforms

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is ready to support healthcare reforms carried out by the Azerbaijani government.

Report informs that Christine Engstrom, director general of ADB's Sectors Department 3, said this during a meeting with Azerbaijani Health Minister Teymur Musayev.

She highly praised the reforms being implemented in this area.

Musayev said cooperation with the Asian Development Bank makes an important contribution to the effective implementation of healthcare reforms and the application of international experience. The minister noted the importance of future joint initiatives on innovative projects, particularly in the development of regional healthcare infrastructure and strengthening medical personnel capacity.

Musayev said the Azerbaijani government has identified the sustainable development of the healthcare system, modernization of medical infrastructure and ensuring public access to quality medical services as priorities.

He said important steps have been taken in recent years to modernize medical institutions and introduce digital solutions in the country.
