On November 18, Azerbaijan and the International Organization for Migration will jointly organize a high-level panel discussion on "Human Displacement in the Context of Climate Change" in Baku, said Ulvi Aliyev, the head of the International Cooperation Department of the Azerbaijani State Migration Service

In addition to foreign ministry officials, the meeting was attended by representatives from Azerbaijan's State Migration Service and Uzbekistan's Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations, and the Agency for External Labor Migration.

The State Migration Service told Report that 1,092 people were barred from entering the country for violating Article 16.1.8 of the Migration Code, while 21 others were denied entry for violating other articles of the code.

Azerbaijan has banned the entry of 1,150 foreigners in July alone, according to Report, which cites the State Migration Service (SMS).

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Migration Service registered 1,171 departures from Azerbaijan. The migration balance across the country was 316 people (positive).

The State Migration Service's Public Relations Department said in response to Report's inquiry that the process took place under the country's readmission documents.

During the the first half of 2024, 33,536 foreigners and stateless persons applied for temporary and permanent residence in Azerbaijan, the State Migration Service (SMS) said, Report informs.

After the agreement specified in part 1 of the decree enters into force, the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan will ensure the implementation of its provisions.

Chinese citizens can visit Azerbaijan three times in one year without a visa starting from July 20, 2024, until July 20, 2025, Report informs, citing the State Migration Service. They can now stay in Azerbaijan for up to 30 days per visit.

Officials of the Ministry of Justice and the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan also participated in the meeting.
