“The torch of the 2nd European Games Minsk-2019 will travel around several continents for the first time," Organizing Committee chairman Sergei Khomich said in the interview to the official website of the European Games. The torch of the race will be lit by seven people at the Ara Pacis museum complex in Rome, Italy, where the headquarters of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) is located. The olive tree, which is a symbol of the action and prepared for the EOC, will also be presented at the solemn ceremony.

Later, members of the Belarusian biker club will accompany the torch passing through Slovenia, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Poland. The torch, that will enter Belarus, on May 12, will be brought to Minsk on June 17. The torch will travel in the territory of the capital 5 days and will be brought to the opening ceremony at Dinamo National Olympic Stadium on June 21. 450 people, including athletes, experts, figures of science, culture and art, will attend the relay in Belarus.

The 2nd European Games will last until June 30. Athletes from 50 countries will compete in 15 kinds of sport. 8 kinds of fights will be the qualifiers for 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympic Games.

Notably, the torch of the Baku 2015 European Games traveled only through the territory of Azerbaijan.
