Verkhovna Rada MP: Ukraine to spend winter without Russian energy carriers

Ukraine will spend the 2022-2023 heating season without Russian energy carriers, Mykhaylo Laba, MP of the ruling Servant of the People party of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, told Report.

He noted that the President and the Verkhovna Rada are working on maintaining tariffs for communal services at the pre-war level:

"So far, 13 billion cubic meters of gas have been pumped into the reservoirs. We are still engaged in the export of electricity. This means that Ukraine is ready for winter. An Operational Headquarters was established under the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine to mobilize opportunities and ensure the heating season. The EU also supports us. Our transit import routes with Poland and Slovakia are open. If necessary, large volumes of gas will be supplied to Ukraine from these countries.

As Ursula von der Leyen said, Ukraine sacrifices itself for the security of Europe. For this reason, we are preparing for the heating season together with the EU and other international partners," he said.
