US Ambassador: EU’s mechanism to avoid sanctions against Iran will remain ineffective

Baku. 13 November. REPORT.AZ/ EU’s financial transaction mechanism prepared to avoid anti-Iranian sanctions will remain ineffective, US Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland said, Report informs citing TASS.

"I’m sure that EU’s any mechanism to evade sanctions will be ineffective. I’m pleased that many EU companies stopped cooperation with Iran. US welcomes them," the diplomat said.

Commenting on the Joint Comprehensive Plan on Iran, the diplomat said that they are not against the Iranian people, don’t want the change of authority in Iran, just expect more responsible behavior from Iranian regime.

A number of European companies stopped their cooperation with Iran in order not to face loss in their activity in US.
