Satellite imagery and ground-based sensors used for monitoring emissions in the oil and gas sector could also have a positive impact in Azerbaijan, Chingiz Orujov, representative of TotalEnergies, said at the 31st Baku Energy Forum.
Report quotes him as saying the company uses satellite imagery and sensors installed at facilities to monitor emissions across its assets in different countries.
"These technologies allow for the rapid detection of emissions and leaks. A monitoring system using satellite data, sensors, and other digital solutions can also be applied in Azerbaijan. Such technologies help to plan and implement emission reduction measures more effectively," Orujov said.
