SOCAR: Vessel on fire in Petkim does not belong to the company

SOCAR Turkey Energy A.S., a subsidiary of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Turkey, has released a statement on the fire that broke on board of an Italian ship in Petkim port.

Report informs that the erupted on board of Italian LPG tanker SYN ZANIA at about 11:20 p.m. on July 1. The reason of the fire is yet to be set.

The fire has immediately been extinguished. The crew was evacuated. One of employees is dead, another was intoxicated with combustion products and taken to hospital. Investigation into the fact is underway.
