The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is planning to send the first oil tanker to Belarusian Belneftekhim Concern on March 5-6.

Deputy Chief of SOCAR's Public Relations and Events Department Ibrahim Ahmadov told Report that the first shipment for the concern makes 85,000 tons. Ahmadov said that the first tanker load of Azerbaijani oil would be sent from the Ceyhan port (the Mediterranean Sea, Turkey).

According to him, as Belarus needs the oil earlier than scheduled, Azerbaijan will send the tanker on March 5-6.

"The second tanker of nearly 85,000 tonnes of oil is to be sent by March 20," Ahmadov said.

A total of 170,000 tonnes of oil in two tankers is to be sent to Belarus in March.

SOCAR was earlier planning to start oil transportation to Belarusian Belneftekhim Concern on March 20. The first tanker load of Azerbaijani oil will be launched from the Supsa port (Georgia). It is yet to be set when the second tanker is to be shipped.
