In August 2021, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR)'s asset in Turkey, the STAR Oil Refinery, produced 72,778 tons of aviation kerosene, Report informs, citing the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA).

Under the report, this is 65,435 tons or 9.9 times more than in August 2020.

As a whole, refineries in Turkey produced 397,470 tons of aviation kerosene in August, which is 138,382,000 tons or 53.4% more than in August 2020.

It should be noted that the STAR plant produced 7,342 tons of aviation kerosene in August 2020.

We should recall that the opening of STAR took place on October 19, 2018. The foundation of the plant was laid on October 5, 2011. STAR owns Turkey's first Strategic Investment Promotion Document. In September 2019, the plant began operating at full capacity.

The plant has a refining capacity of 10 million tons of crude oil per year. The plant can process the Urals, Azeri Light, and Kirkuk oil. Its main products are diesel fuel (4.8 million tons), jet fuel, naphtha (1.6 million tons), liquefied petroleum gas, mixed xylene, and petroleum coke.
