SOCAR increases oil refining by more than 13%

In 2021, the Heydar Aliyev oil refinery of the State Oil Company (SOCAR) processed 6.7 million tons of oil, Report informs referring to SOCAR's main production indicators for 2021.

Under the data, this is 13.3% more than in 2020. Last year, SOCAR's gas processing plant processed 3.8 billion cubic meters of gas.

SOCAR’s Heydar Aliyev oil refinery, being the only oil refinery in the region, along with meeting local demand for AI-92 gasoline, diesel, and aviation fuel, supplies SOCAR petrochemical enterprises in Azerbaijan with raw materials. Part of the products manufactured at the plant is exported. Of great importance for the country's industry are modernization and reconstruction works carried out in order to increase the production capacity of the refinery, provide the country with high-quality fuel that meets the Euro-5 standard, ensure the stable supply of Azerkimya (Azeri chemistry) industrial association with raw materials and increase the export potential of petroleum products.
