Suspension of oil transportation via Druzhba to Europe due to contaminated oil actualized creation of alternative pipelines, General Director at International Pipeline Enterprise Sarmatia, LLC Sergei Skripka told Report.
In late April, Belarusian Belneftekhim halted oil transportation via Druzhba from Russia due to contaminated oil.
According to Skripka, one of such pipelines may be the Brody-Plock (Adamova Zastava): "According to the feasibility study of the project approved last year, main users of the oil to be transported via this pipeline are expected to be Poland and Germany."
He noted that negotiations will be held with large companies and suppliers this year: "Of course, main oil supplier to the Brody-Adamova Zastava pipeline will be SOCAR. At the same time, other companies operating in the Caspian region will also be involved in this project."
Skripka noted that Sarmatia will provide services for supply of resources from the Caspian region to Europe.
Sarmatia was established by Ukraine’s Ukrtransnafta and Polish PERN Przyjazn companies on July 12, 2004.
