Oil production in US rose to 11.4 million bpd last week

Oil production in the US for the week ended August 13 increased by 100,000 barrels per day to the previous week's level - to 11.4 million barrels per day, reads a weekly report of the Energy Information Administration (EIA) of the US Department of Energy, Report informs.

On average, over the past four weeks, oil production in the US amounted to 11.275 million barrels per day. Last year, the figure averaged 11.283 million barrels per day.

Oil production amounted to 11.27 million barrels per day in June and 11.33 million barrels per day in July.

According to the EIA forecast, oil production in the leading oil and gas producing regions of the US, a significant part of production in which is shale oil, will grow by 49,000 barrels per day in September compared to the current month.

At the end of last week, crude oil inventories in the US fell by 3.234 million barrels with a forecast decline of 1.055 million barrels, according to the data from the EIA.
