Nakhchivan electricity production rises 2.9% in January-August

Commercial electricity production in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan totaled 360,133.4 MWh in January-August 2026.
According to Report, citing the State Statistics Committee of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, this was 2.9% higher than in the same period last year.
Alternative and renewable energy sources accounted for 59.7% of total electricity production.
During the reporting period, thermal power plants generated 145,228.8 MWh, hydropower plants 175,507.1 MWh, and solar and wind power plants 39,397.5 MWh.
Electricity generated from alternative and renewable energy sources increased by 44.6% compared with the same period last year.
