Guinea resumes fuel supplies after explosion

Guinea's government has announced it will resume gasoline supplies in limited quantities starting today, five days after an explosion and fire in Conakry at the country's main fuel depot killed at least 23 people.

Report informs via AFP that due to the explosion, gasoline has not been sold throughout the country since Monday, slowing down logistics and transport and leading to demonstrations in several localities.

"The government is pleased to inform the population that thanks to diplomatic contacts with neighboring countries, the supply of fuel at gas stations will significantly improve," the government said in a communiqué.
