Germany reduces VAT on gas to 7%

The German government has decided to reduce VAT on gas from the current 19% to 7% until March 31, 2024, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said, Report informs referring to TASS.
“Today, the federal government has decided to temporarily reduce the VAT on gas to 7%,” he said at a press conference in Berlin on August 18. “The reduced VAT rate will remain in effect until the gas purchase fee is levied, that is, until March 31, 2024.
