Gas futures prices in Europe rise 16.7%

For the first time in history, gas futures prices in Europe have exceeded $2,000 per 1,000 cubic meters, Report informs referring to the data of the London stock exchange ICE.

The cost of January futures on the TTF index opened the trading session on December 21 near the $1,800 mark, prices fluctuated throughout the day and by 4 p.m. (GMT+4) for the first time exceeded the $2,000 mark. The indicator reached $2,004, which is 16.7% higher than the calculated price on December 20 ($1,716.7).

The price of January futures on the Dutch TTF index at the opening of the trading session approached the $1,800 mark and as of 11 a.m. (GMT+4) increased to $1,811.

Gas prices rose markedly on December 16, rising from a minimum of $1,450 to over $1,700 per 1,000 cubic meters.
