Erdogan: Turkiye may start exporting energy after 2 nuke plants appear in country

The leaders of Turkiye and Russia have discussed the construction of a nuclear power plant in Sinop city. After commissioning this power plant, Ankara will be able to start exporting energy, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, Report informs referring to Turkish media.

“When this issue is also resolved, the energy problem for Turkiye will basically disappear, and we can easily start exporting electricity,” Erdogan stressed, expressing hope that a nuclear power plant with four reactors will be built in Sinop.

The Turkish leader doesn’t rule out that it will surpass the first Akkuyu nuclear power plant, which is being built in Mersin (Turkiye) as part of an intergovernmental agreement between the two countries, in terms of power. After its launch, over the next 2-3 years, Turkiye’s energy security will be strengthened.
