"A significant increase in the electricity demand and production is expected by the end of this year and in the coming years," Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said in an article published in the Respublika newspaper dedicated to the Energy Day entitled "A new era of Azerbaijani energy begins in Karabakh and East Zangazur."
According to the minister, electricity production is expected to increase by 4.8% to 27.1 billion kWh this year, 27.5 billion kWh in 2022, 27.8 billion kWh in 2023: 28 billion kWh in 2024; 28.3 billion kWh in 2025.
The minister said that electricity consumption is expected to increase by 4.5% this year to 23 billion kWh; 23.5 billion kWh in 2022; 23.9 billion kWh in 2023; 24 billion kWh in 2024; 24.3 billion kWh in 2025.
