Representatives of the Ministry of Energy, ACWA Power, Environment and Management Consulting Company 5 Capitals and Eco Energy LLC discussed the current state of the environmental and social impact analysis process of the 240 MW wind energy project online, the ministry's press service told Report.
According to the Executive Agreement signed by the Ministry of Energy with ACWA Power of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the assessment began in March this year in Khizi and Absheron districts, where the 240 MW wind farm would be built. Preliminary flora and fauna studies were conducted in both areas. Archaeological, botanical, herpetological, and radiation observations have been over, but sociological surveys, comments, and valuations are ongoing.
The next stage is to analyze air, water, and soil samples in the laboratory, monitor the sound and shadow modeling required for wind energy projects, and consult with stakeholders.
This process will end in December 2020, and the final document will be made public.
