BTC increases oil transportation by 6%

In January-June this year, 19,649,700 tons of oil was transported via Azerbaijan's main oil pipelines, 9.7% more than in the same period last year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

Within three months, 76.5% of transportation was carried out via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil export pipeline.

During the reporting month, 15,025,400 tons of oil were transported through the BTC, 6.1% more than in the same period of 2022.

During the period, 12,570,200 tons of transit oil were transported via the BTC pipeline. Of this, 2,455,200 tons were Turkmen and Kazakh oils.

The BTC pipeline currently carries mainly oil from Azerbaijan from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block and condensate from the Shah Deniz field. In addition, other volumes of crude oil and condensate, including oil from Turkmenistan, Russia, and Kazakhstan, are transported through the BTC.

Shareholders of BTC Co: BP (30.1%); AzBTC (25%); MOL (8.9%); Equinor (8.71%); TPAO (6.53%); Eni (5%); Total (5%), ITOCU (3.4%); INPEKS (2.5%), ExxonMobil (2.5%) and ONGC (BTC) Limited (2.36%).
