BP plans to complete seismic exploration work in Uzbekistan's Ustyurt region by the end of summer under a contract with Azerbaijan's State Oil Company SOCAR and Uzbekneftegaz, BP Regional President for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye Giovanni Cristofoli told journalists in Baku, according to Report.
"The plan is to complete the seismic work by the end of summer, and then analyze the data until the end of next year to determine whether oil and gas are present there and what the potential scale of reserves is. It is the seismic data that should provide us with these answers," Cristofoli said.
He added that interpretation of the seismic data will continue from the end of summer through the following year.
