"Azerbaijan and Turkey enjoy a great partnership in the energy sector. The two countries have already begun close collaboration in the field of alternative energy," Azerbaijani Ambassador to Turkey Khazar Ibrahim said in an interview with Anadolu Agency, Report informs.
"We first had cooperation in classical energy fields such as oil and natural gas. Later, Azerbaijan purchased the processing enterprises in Turkey. The STAR refinery and the Petkim petrochemical complex produce important outputs for Turkey. These products both reduce the dependence of the brother country on imports and allow it to save money. We have already started the association in renewable energy, such as solar and wind energy. That is, we have cooperation not only in oil and gas but also in renewable energy, which is very important for the future," he noted.
