Azerbaijan triples wind power production

The production in the sector of electric power, gas and steam production, distribution and supply amounted to AZN 1,312,900,000 in January-August 2019, up 3.3% from 2018, Report informs citing the State Statistical Committee.

Production in water supply, waste treatment and processing sector has risen by 8.5% settling at AZN 220 million.

In the reporting period, Azerbaijan produced 16,403,100,000 kWh of electric power, up 5.7% in comparison to a year earlier.

Of this, 1,188,400,000 kWh was produced at hydro power plants, down 10.3% by contrast to a year ago.

Heating power stations produced 14,530,800,000 kWh of energy, 7.2% more than in 2018.

Wind power production rose 3.2-fold to 78.2 million kWh, solar power production by 8% to 29.8 million kWh.
