In 2021, Azerbaijan exported 280,876,000 tons of petroleum coke, customs declarations reveal.

Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee, that the amount of petroleum coke was worth $25,357,000, Report informs.

During the reporting period, the share of petroleum coke in the country's total exports was 0.11%.

Petroleum coke is produced at SOCAR's Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery. The refinery is the only oil refining complex in the region and provides the bulk of Azerbaijan's fuel needs. The plant produces 15 types of oil products, including gasoline, jet fuel, diesel fuel, fuel oil, petroleum coke, etc.

Founded in 1953, SOCAR's Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery is currently implementing the second and third stages of the upgrading and reconstruction project.
