In January-June this year, Azerbaijan exported 35,185 tons of nitrogen fertilizers, according to customs declarations.

Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee, that the value of exports in the first five months of this year amounted to $7.65 million.

This is 30.25% less and 3.9% more, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

During the reporting period, nitrogen fertilizer accounted for 0.1% of exports in the non-oil sector.

Nitrogen fertilizer is produced at the SOCAR Urea Plant in the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park. The plant was commissioned on January 16, 2019, and can produce 650,000-660,000 tons of urea per year using 435 million cubic meters of natural gas as raw material. 70% of production is intended for export.
