Azerbaijan quadruples carbamide export 

In January-May 2021, Azerbaijan exported 12,493 tons of nitrogen fertilizer worth $2.203 million, respectively, down 37,945 tons (4.04-fold) and $5.162 million (3.3-fold) from the previous year.

Export of nitrogen fertilizer constituted 0.24% of the total exports of Azerbaijan on the non-oil sector.

The nitrogen fertilizer is produced in the SOCAR Carbamide Plant, of which the production capacity is 650-660,000 tonnes of carbamide using 435 million cubic meters of natural gas. The Plant was put into operation on January 16, 2019. 70% of the production is for export.
